About

We are two young, ardent math enthusiasts.  Our interests include everything from particle physics to photography, engineering to Tolkien, and astronomy to music.  Grant is currently studying mathematics at the University of California, Los Angeles.  Josh is now a mechanical engineering major at North Carolina State University.  Both agree that these fields cannot be studied in isolation from other subjects, such as literature, history, and music, but both will continue to complain about general education requirements until the end of time.  We both enjoy thinking about good problems, and we hope you enjoy our posts solving some of these.  For an interesting philosophy of mathematics, see Lockhart’s Lament.

Some may note that the blog name should have only one z.  However, we only appear to be “wizards” at first glance, much as math often appears to be “magic” at first glance.  Really, it’s not.  Also, the domain name with the correct spelling was taken already.
